Poem: St. George for England (and St. Pancras for Scotland)

St. George he fought the Dragon

                  they both were wearing armour

the Dragon was all Smoke and Fire

while George was so much calmer.

That Dragon he was evil and

            was unkind to his mother

St. George he was a lovely chap

            and everybody’s brother.

The fight was long and tough

until George got the Dragons goat

he poked him up his nostril

            then slit his scaly throat.

Our George was brave and strong

and as feisty as a stallion

that’s why he’s Englands Patron Saint

            although he was Italian.
