Poem: The Beacon Hill Gulls Choir

We’re the Beacon Hill gulls choir

            we are basically tone deaf

we don’t know our base from our treble

            and we can’t tell a “B” from an “F”.

We think we are Sopranos

            but I wouldn’t make a bet –

we’ve been practicing for centuries

            and there’s no improvement yet.

We sing the same song over –

            morning noon and night

we’re bored out of our tiny minds

‘cause we can’t get the DAMN TUNE right.
