Whether you’re dashing through the snow or up on a rooftop, or simply scrambling to find that perfect holiday gift, the 38 Annual Dickens Fair is the place to be for all of your holiday needs! On Saturday December 1, from 10 am – 4:30 pm, the James Bay Community School Centre opens its doors to one of Victoria’s oldest and best-attended Holiday Craft Fairs.

This show offers the perfect time for family and friends to take in all the festive sights and sounds that the holiday season has to offer! Whether you’re a return or first time visitor you will experience a treat at this year’s show. There will be free draws and door prizes to get your day started and the Dickens’ Café run by the Bent Mast Restaurant will warm you up with delicious foods and beverages. Don’t forget to bring the whole family; we have fun activities for the kids including live chickens to pet and cuddle.

We’re very excited to welcome back some incredible vendors and introduce a line-up of new and talented crafters and artisans who will be displaying their creations during this amazing show. Looking for the perfect gift? The Dickens’ Fair will feature over 60 local and unique artisans, one-of-a-kind gifts, beautiful holiday décor, and delicious food and baked items. You are sure to find something for everyone!

Auntie Tal’s has children’s apparel in all sizes and styles. There is also a great collection of knitted and hand woven hats, wraps and cowls perfect for men, women, teens and tots. Handmade cork purses and wallets that will complete the perfect holiday look along with fun and funky tie-dye apparel in all types and sizes. You will also find fabric balloon covers along with bright and cheery purses and pouches by Caddy Bay Creations.

Adorn your home with hanging cloth angels, snowmen, elves, reindeer and hand painted Christmas balls; we even have re-useable window art! Decorative fused glassworks are a marvel to behold and will add color and personality to your home. From cheerful greeting cards to scenic art prints, pottery to sculpture, and ceramic lanterns, our exhibitors will not cease to amaze you with their fine workmanship.

Don't forget to pamper yourself! All-natural body products for men and women from our talented body care vendors include an amazing array of soaps, lip balms, facemasks, shampoo and shaving bars. Specialty face creams are also available, as well as salves, infused oils, gels, and body scrubs to name a few.

Delicious delights from our specialty exhibitors will be hard to resist. You will also find organic beef and mouthwatering sausages from Boughneath Farm alongside an assortment of smoked cheeses from the Grater Whey.

To satisfy your sweet tooth we have delicious gluten free baked items from Bake My Day, alongside a vast array of holiday cookies, pies and tarts too! From homemade fudge to incredible vegan chocolates, you will never be in short supply of something sweet to top off that holiday stocking.

The James Bay Community School PAC committee will be operating the Children’s Area and will also have a booth set up at our fair, come out and support those amazing people who do so much for the school children!

There is so much to explore and discover with our quality local artisans, bakers, and makers. All of this and more are happening on Saturday, December 1st from 10am to 4:30pm at the James Bay Community Center located at 140 Oswego Street in the heart of James Bay.
