Poem: THE MERMAID

1’m what is called a Mermaid
no one believes in me
I’m hardly ever seen near land
I live far out at sea.

My hair is long and wavy
I look alluring but quite chaste
because I wear two Scallop shells
strategically placed.

The rock I like to sit on
is large and Mussle bound
while half of me is Human
the rest’s Ten Cents a pound.
