Poem: The Boxer

He’s a brown dog
           called a Boxer
with a black face
           like a fist
and tho’ he looks a bruise
          he’s not a pugilist.

He may look quite pugnaciou
but his looks they do belie
because if you look closely
there’s a twinkle in his eye.

With a coat so smooth and shiny
he looks both smart and trim-
and when he wags his stumpy tail
his tail wags more than him.
