Poem: Nature at Work

Poem: Nature at Work

It is the pensive hour of dawn
When the earth and I begin
Revolving through another day
In a year of going around the sun

Cherry trees covered in pink petals
Like a snake shedding its skin
Release their beauty onto the path

Clouds have a freedom
To drift in many directions
Continually renewing their shapes

A hummingbird dive bombs a crow
Many times larger protecting
Its nest high in a fir tree

And I just keep shambling along
Watching nature’s carefree systems
Taking care of themselves.
