Incredible edibles have already sprouted at JBCP

By Moira Dann

This just in: The first colourful harvest of herbs and edible flowers springing from the Growing Little Gardeners program at the James Bay Community Project. With the guidance of hard-working volunteers Ruth, Leslie, and Robin, participant children and caregivers in the JBCP weekly family playgroup drop-in have been helping develop the garden (seeding, weeding, and watering) as a naturally green space to play. It’s also a primo spot to grow fruits and vegetables to share with participating families …or  to wash right away and munch on during snack time at the JBCP! Information about neighbourhood garden work parties will be shared when it’s confirmed. The Growing Little Gardeners program was made possible by a City of Victoria My Great Neighbourhood grant.
