Poem: The Elephant

I am a large grey Pachyderm
(that’s Elephant to you)
I used to live in Africa
But now I’m in a Zoo.

I could have been a Matriarch
the leader of my pack
But they’ve got me walking up and down
with people on my back.

 They treat me well
I can’t complain
but Oh I miss the open Plain
I miss my family
and have regrets-
you see this Elephant never forgets.
