Poem: My Path on the Cliffs

The grassy meadows, trees, the sky and sea
Hold me and enfold me.
The green and salty scented air
Refreshes my breath,
And the little song birds in the May tree
Sing to me, and their music blends
With the happy voices of children
Playing on the beach
Filling the air with joy
And my heart with thanks.

Sheila was a resident of the James Bay community for almost 30 years – volunteering with the The James Bay Recycling Program, the James Bay Market, Seedy Saturday, and singing with the Gettin’ Higher Choir. She walked on Dallas cliffs most days, always with a song in her heart. She passed away suddenly on April 25, 2019.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Sheila on Sunday, July 14 at the White Eagle Hall at 90 Dock Street, Victoria BC from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.
