By Moira Dann

Are you a senior or an adult with disabilities living in James Bay?

Do you sometimes wish you knew of someone who could give you a hand with a few things around the house, such as gardening or minor home repairs?

Do you sometimes wish you knew of someone who could give you a lift to a doctor’s appointment?
Would you just sometimes like some company for conversation and a cup of tea?

The James Bay Community Project Outreach Worker program can help! Outreach Worker Elizabeth Canjura-Jelks oversees and coordinates a group of dedicated volunteers who offer support to eligible low-income individuals living independently in the James Bay community.

Volunteer services also include assistance with learning basic computer skills, help with reading and writing your correspondence, and getting your bookshelf in order.

“In addition to the volunteer services available,” says Elizabeth, “the Outreach program may also act as an advocate on your behalf, as well as offer support for you in your individual situation.” You need only get in touch and Elizabeth will see how she can help you.
